I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT 80s??

My version of 80s cartoons continues! Here's one that I'm sure a lot of you remember, and I watched religiously as a little kid- DANGER MOUSE

This was a really strange British animated series with, I'm assuming, an extremely low budget; because every other scene had at least one recycled shot from the scene we just saw a moment ago. They must have had a total of about six drawings per episode, but no matter, it's weird characters and pure Britishness made up for it all the same!

Anyway, here's my hack roughs- looks like Jo the Faux managed to sneak herself in there somehow!

And this is just me messing with the layers in Photoshop, and then a happy accident occurred which made this turn out kinda cool-looking. Sweet!

Sorry there wasn't much to this post, but more 80s cartoons from Nico are on the way. See you next time!

Nice!!!! I like the accidental layer drawing too! That looks cool!

I loved Danger Mouse as a kid (I've always loved spy spoof stuff). I just never really cared for the voices in that cartoon. But I like the character!

Really great job on this! Love your takes on the characters. And, although this wasn't a show from the 80's, I want to see your versions of Darkwing Duck characters.

I think there should be a remake of the series or a movie.
Rowan Atkinson as Danger mouse

Didn't John K, Eddie, Bill Wray, Tom Minton, Sam Simon, Virgil Ross, and a host of famous cartoonists work on Count Duckula?

Nice, I can see the accident being stencled around the place.

Jenny- Haha, I can perfectly imagine your voice saying that comment aloud. You make me laff!

Jess- Thank you for the Etsy idea! The problem is that I don't have much physical hand-made stuff lately. I'm pretty stuck to digital artwork, and I don't think that would exactly sell, haha. Who knows though, maybe I'll end up with an Etsy. We'll have to wait and see...

Katie- Yayyyyy KATIE!!!!! You always write me such sweet feedback. Thank you!

Molly- Thank you!! Oh man, I was a Darkwing nut when that show was around, but I haven't seen it since it ended. Oh man, GizmoDuck for teh win. I'll see if I can give drawing the characters a shot!

Frog- As long as it's more exciting than the original show (which wouldn't be that hard to do), not a bad idea!

Jorge- I wouldn't be surprised! John's worked on every lame 80s cartoon from The Smurfs to the Animated Adventures of Laverne and Shirley. Yikes!

Hyrma- I dare you to get it tattooed on your forehead!

I totally love your Danger Mouse better than the original. But seriously no Count Duckula? That show ruled.

Wahhhh...

Why don't I know these cartoon shows from the 80's? Except for Inspector Gadget.

I think I just watched Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood all the time. And watched the cartoons my mom compulsively tape-recorded. It varied from Casper to Bongo the Bear.

Maybe I'll know the next show you draw ;(

Sadly, I was born in the age of Seattle rock, flannel shirts, and Slick Willie Clinton (the 90's). I never got to see these kinds of shows.

Damn.

Say, Nico, have you seen the latest stuff on my art blog?
